Winter on the Ware
I don’t have much to report for February as there isn’t a great deal of Fleet activity this time of year. A reminder to the Sailing community that we are on for our February 19th meeting at the Club (11AM -2PM) to discuss the 2022 sailing season. I have received close to 30 responses to our survey and will be sending out an agenda and some sub-committee goals to those who responded.
Otherwise, just anticipating a well attended meeting and preparing for an active 2022 on the water !
Best

Welcome Aboard
Please welcome Steve & Sandy, our first new members of 2022. Steve and Sandy moved to Gloucester to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law and four grandsons.
Steve has sailed since college and they are both looking forward to meeting other members and getting involved in club activities.
Happy New Year / Deferred Annual Meeting
I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season. There is not much to report at this time other than the timing of our annual meeting. Due to rising virus levels and out of an abundance of caution we have decided to postpone our meeting until February when it will hopefully be safer to gather. As this is a constantly evolving situation please be on the look out for Board communication regarding this event. We have tentatively scheduled for 2/12/22 and it is my sincere hope to see you there.

Happy New 'Fleet" Year
As we start the new year and 2022 sailing season we have quite a few improvements to share and of course we have a new Keel boat in the Fleet and a 3rd Club Albacore. I’m working with Joe Morgan on our planning for the Sailing Community Meeting to be held sometime in late February, probably the 19th. Once the date is confirmed I’ll send a separate email with details.
You should have also received a survey link that was sent to your email about a week ago which identifies which area(s) of sailing you would like to participate in for 2022. To date we have seen only 14 survey responses and based on the interest we’ve seen in our adult sailing, Albacore series and Club keel boat usage, I would hope to see at least 30 to 40 total response. It’s critical to the success of the meeting, and our success of our Sailing season that you let us know your area of interest, so we can plan the best sailing experience possible. Please click on this link to submit a survey response if you did not receive it previously.
Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in February!

2021 WRYC Rentals
I am pleased to report that WRYC ended the 2021 year with a total of 28 rentals. The breakdown of rentals in 2021 is as follows: Non-member rentals - 14, Member rentals - 13, Non-profit rentals - 1. WRYC also hosted the National Albacore Regatta and our annual Governor’s Cup Regatta this year. It was a very busy year for our Club building. At this writing we have 9 rentals booked for 2022. Please continue to spread the word on what a great venue WRYC is.

….And another one!
With this year winding down and coming to a close I am happy to report that your WRYC is a thriving local club that supports the enjoyment of our local waterways and provides a beautiful destination for not only its members, but also local organizations seeking a host venue and many seeking to use our buildings and grounds for weddings and other social events. All of this is made possible by the efforts of dedicated members who love the WRYC and have a heart to serve. Please take a moment and consider lending your talents in the support of the Club we love so much.
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and wish all a Happy Holidays!
