Social Committee Report - 10/3/19

We had a fantastic Labor Day Social this year! Sandy & Buzz Geiger and Julie Stone decorated the Club with a tropical theme using gorgeous flower arrangements, shells, parrots and more. Thanks to Cordon Davis who greeted everyone at the door and to Sharon and Jay McGlohn who tended bar. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the mild temperature encouraged lots of members and guests to attend and enjoy fellowship.

We celebrated the end of Summer with great food, catered by Brian Williams, and topped it all off with Key Lime Pie ice cream from Short Lane Ice Cream! Thank you, Sandy, Buzz & Julie for your great organization and hard work!

Oktoberfest will be held on Saturday, October 19th, so mark your calendars. Jane & Kirby Smith and their hard-working team have a great time planned. Take notice of the invitation featured in this Telltale and come celebrate with us. More information to come on our most popular annual event, the WRYC Oyster Roast, save the date – Saturday – November 9th!

The Club’s membership is vital for making our social events successful, so participate, volunteer, host, plan, clean-up after a social. Your Board needs help in any way you can offer it. You can make a difference here at WRYC!

As a reminder, we encourage our members to RSVP for socials. Our hosts rely on this information as they plan and work to ensure each event is enjoyable for all in attendance. A deadline date for RSVPs is always shown on the social invitation, please be sure to secure your seat prior to the RSVP date.
